Yeah having your big goal is great way to directionalise yourself, but it really needs to get broken down into 'bite sized' chunks that are measurable and achievable. When you have that it is so much easier to gain that momentum and work your way towards the longer term.
Maybe we should have a monthly goals thread for this sort of thing so we can put some achievables out there and cheer each other on.

Hi everyone,
Thought I might contribute to the great little thread!
What I like to do is make up a little list each day of all the things that I have to do for that day. As I complete each one, I systematically cross them off my list. There's something very fullfulling in looking at my list of "things to do" and seeing them all crossed off. That's my small, achievable goal, trying to get the list done. Gives me a sense of accomplishment at the end of the day.
And if I don't complete something on the list, it just goes onto the list for the next day, and so forth (or until I lose interest in it ha ha!!). I write anything down on the list, however small.
When I'm done, I scrunch it up, throw it away and say "goals achieved". Then start again the next day.
It's just what I do....
Hobbit.
