I felt like that too at first my daughter has boarder line personality disorder and often attempts suicide. In the first few months I was very angry with cams and the support she was getting, but now I realize the only person who can help these kids are themselves, with us parents standing right beside them. Tonight has been a rough one my daughter wanted to hurt herself. No person or dr in the world can help her not have these feelings. Only she has the power to stop I am hopeful one-day she will have this realisation and begin to live the life she deserves full of hope and happiness until then just hang in there.

I hear you both loud and clear. @Samantha3078 , you are so right in saying that it is your daughter who ultimately can help herself. Try as you might, nothing can be done unless she is ready.
As for the MH system, they are stretched beyond imagination. Particularly during COVID, people are really struggling. The public system has to triage their clients. It is a shame, but it is our current reality. Waiting lists to see psychiatrists and psychologists are months long.
Im sorry to hear things are so rough for you @Sandra2 . I only wish and pray things get better for you soon.
Hugs, BPDSurvivor
